Rhodiola rosea is a known adaptogen, with an extensive history of use in traditional medicine cultures.ii Salidroside is a naturally occurring bioactive compound that typically comprises 1% of Rhodiola plant material and has long been known to be a key driver for the plant’s various health benefits. More than 300 peer-reviewed studies have linked salidroside to a wide range of health benefits including anti-aging, anti-fatigue, and central nervous system activity.iii
While most Rhodiola supplements contain varying amounts of naturally occurring compounds, LK-01™ is a precise, single-ingredient formula containing only salidroside. LK-01™ is 99.5% pure salidroside and provides up to 12x the salidroside content of traditional Rhodiola supplements.iv Through biosynthetic production, LK-01™ eliminates the need to harvest the endangered Rhodiola rosea plant along with the risk of consuming trace amounts of heavy metals, pesticides, and residual solvents that may be found in natural plant extracts. Landkind is pursuing a robust preclinical and clinical research program to further validate the safety and health benefits of LK-01™. In a study recently published by its parent company, DoubleRainbow Biosciences, Landkind presented data supporting the safety of sustainably produced, bioengineered LK-01™ Pure Salidroside. This key study supports that LK-01™ is a viable alternative to naturally occurring salidroside isolated from Rhodiola plants for potential use as dietary supplements, food ingredients, or pharmaceutical products.v
Landkind is currently enrolling participants in a randomized controlled trial to further explore the benefits of salidroside on metabolism, athletic performance and recovery. Additional studies will explore the effect of LK-01™ on cognitive performance and stress response in humans.
